What is an Executor?
The executor is basically tasked with carrying out the wishes set out within the will and ensuring all taxes, fees, and donations are paid and the estate is distributed correctly.
An executor's responsibilities include:
- Ensuring property goes to the beneficiaries as designated in the will
- Assessing any potential heirs
- Collecting and arranging for payment of debts
- Calculating taxes and esnuring they are paid, filing legal forms and generally assiting the attorney of estate.
- Making any donations bequested to charities and other organisations.
